DAR HONORS RUFUS PORTER MUSEUM — Molly Ockett Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution presented the NSDAR Excellence in Historic Preservation to the Rufus Porter Museum of Art and Ingenuity on Saturday, Sept. 13. The Molly Ockett Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), presented the National Society DAR Excellence in Historic Preservation Award to the Rufus Porter Museum of Art and Ingenuity for its exceptional work to preserve the work and share with the public the multifaceted achievements of Rufus Porter — artist, musician, teacher, inventor, and founder of Scientific American magazine. 

Dan Dinsmore, museum executive director, accepted the award, which was presented at the chapter’s Sept. 13 meeting at the Bridgton Community Center.
