To the editor:

This holiday season — when food banks, mutual aid efforts and community services work harder than ever — we are reminded how many of our neighbors rely on one another to get through tough times. Rising grocery prices, higher rents and increased transportation costs are affecting families across the valley. For many, even working full time is no longer enough to cover the basics. In moments like these, the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program becomes not just helpful but essential to maintaining stability and dignity.
