BERLIN — You can’t outrun the weather. Certainly not this past weekend’s weather. And there’s a chance another storm can hit Sunday; meteorologists are tracking a possible storm forming off the Carolina coast.
Snowfall reports from the National Weather Service station in Gray, Maine, list the inches collected by volunteers and regular contributors to the weather.gov site. As of 11:33 a.m. on Tuesday, snow depths on the ground totaled 18 inches for Pinkham Notch; Carroll, 16.4 inches; Whitefield, 16 inches; Jefferson, 12 inches; Lancaster, 12 inches and Northumberland, 11.2 inches. An informal gauge of snowfall Monday night in Berlin, taken with a metal ruler placed upright in the snow that accumulated on a car’s roof, measured 13.5 inches.
