Coos County negotiating to house its inmates at Berlin state prison

BERLIN — Coos County officials are negotiating with the N.H. Department of Corrections to house county inmates at the state prison in Berlin.

Discussions on a contract to have the state prison take the Coos inmates are described as “progressing positively” in the Oct. 19 minutes of the delegation. Both the state prison in Berlin and the Coos County House of Correction in West Stewartstown hold only male inmates.
