PINKHAM NOTCH — Thanks to an extended period of cold weather that allowed for good snowmaking temperatures starting Nov. 2, Wildcat Mountain officials have announced that the resort will be opening for skiing and riding on Friday.

Wildcat will be among four Vail Resorts ski areas set to open this week — the others being Mount Snow in Vermont, opening Wednesday; and Hunter Mountain in New York and Big Boulder of Pennsylvania, also slated for a Friday opening.
