BERLIN — If approved by the city council at a future meeting, the pickup days for trash or solid waste could be changed to three days a week, a plan aimed at reducing litter, domestic and wildlife destruction and ordinance violations when residents or businesses put their trash out too early.

City Manager Phillip L. Warren Jr. proposed solid waste or trash to be picked up on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. This would avoid any trash being put out on Mondays and Fridays, particularly when holidays fall on those two weekdays.
