BERLIN — About 75 advocates gathered at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church on Wednesday afternoon to protest the federal Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s treatment of detainees, especially those held at the federal prison in Berlin.

Many braved the cold to stand outside holding signs alerting the public to the issue, while many more gathered inside to hear from a variety of speakers and musicians. The event was organized by the North Country Sanctuary Community as a peace remembrance.
