BERLIN — Berlin and the Brown family are most often associated with paper mills and woodlands. But in the horse world, W. R. Brown is renown for founding the Maynesboro Stud, and at one time, ran the largest Arabian horse-breeding operation in the United States in the city.

It was that history that attracted Mark and Natalie Tindall of Moonlight Arabians in Cornwall, England, to Berlin last week. The Tindalls breed Arabian horses, and in particular specialize in breeding Crabbet horses. Crabbet are a line traced back to the Crabbet Arabian Stud horse-breeding farm in Sussex, England, from 1878 to 1972.
