BERLIN — Berlin High junior Hayley Norton has earned a first place ribbon in the N.H. Junior Duck Stamp competition for her acrylic painting of a wood duck.

Pleased with her showing, Norton said the contest allowed her to combine her love of art and her love of animals. She said Berlin High School art teacher Roland Simard told her about the contest earlier this year and encouraged her to submit an entry.
