GORHAM - Gorham police believe speed was a factor in a motor vehicle accident that claimed the life of a Berlin businessman on the Berlin-Gorham Road Monday afternoon.

Maurice Giroux, 60, was transported to Androscoggin Valley Hospital in Berlin where he succumbed to injuries incurred in the accident. Giroux was a well-known general contractor operating Moe Giroux Remodeling and Carpentry.
