BERLIN — Nearly 40 people attended the first of what is planned to be a series of meetings hosted by school leaders and veteran educators with residents to discuss goals, improve academic and financial outcomes, and foster communication between residents and administrators.

Held in the Berlin Middle High School library, the Jan. 15 forum brought together community members interested in school programs and student excellence, and wary of property taxes.
