The Androscoggin Valley Regional Refuse Disposal District is asking the state to allow it to increase the amount of municipal solid waste it can accept at the Mount Carberry landfill.

At the same time, the district has authorized Executive Director Sharon Gauthier to enter into short-term contracts with outside haulers to bring solid waste into the landfill to help cover the district's cost of purchasing the facility and opening and closing cells there.
