BERLIN--Mr. Roland J. “Cab” Caouette, age 78, of 554 Rockingham St., Berlin, NH, passed away Thursday morning, February 26, 2004 at his home. He was born in Berlin on November 21, 1925, the son of Delpha and Melodia Montminy Caouette. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Seaman First Class. A lifelong resident of Berlin, he was employed as a rigger at the Burgess Mill for the Brown Company and James River Corporation retiring on January 8, 1988. He was born in Berlin on November 21, 1925, the son of Delpha and Melodia Montminy Caouette. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Seaman First Class. A lifelong resident of Berlin, he was employed as a rigger at the Burgess Mill for the Brown Company and James River Corporation retiring on January 8, 1988. Mr. Caouette was a member of the Guardian Angel Parish, now known as Good Shepherd Parish. He was a life long member of the V.F.W. Post 2520 and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and of the Paperworkers’ Union Local #75.

He is survived by his four sons, Ronald and his wife Jane Caouette of Dover, NH, Normand and his wife Gloria Caouette of Berlin, NH, Richard and his wife Bessy Caouette of Penacook, NH and Roger Caouette of Berlin, NH; one brother, Rene Caouette of Berlin, NH; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Alice Long Caouette, on August 5, 2001. He was also predeceased by his three brothers, Arthur, Wilfred and Oscar Caouette and by his sister, Sr. Irene Caouette.
