MILAN — The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics New Hampshire is coming to Coos County Berlin and Gorham. The Law Enforcement Torch Run is celebrating its 35th year and is a series of runs totaling more than 500 miles that carry the Flame of Hope to the Special Olympics New Hampshire State Summer Games.
Each participating local law enforcement agency will run the Flame of Hope through their hometown and then pass it to the next agency. The flame’s journey will end at the University of New Hampshire in Durham on June 7 where it will ignite the caldron during the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics New Hampshire State Summer Games. Eight hundred athletes from across New Hampshire will go for the gold in athletics, bocce, equestrian, powerlifting, sprint triathlon and swimming.
