NORTH COUNTRY — During the week of May 19, volunteers from the Relay For Life of North Country will be busy decorating area town’s gazebos with banners and purple ribbons to raise awareness during national "Paint The Town Purple" week. Local businesses and communities are being offered the opportunity to show support by displaying purple in their store fronts or front lawns.
For all of those touched by cancer, purple is more than just a color. It represents hope and embodies the power and promise of the American Cancer Society Relay For Life movement. This year, the organization wants to take the purple movement to more people and spread the message further. They want to “Paint The Town Purple” so that cancer never takes another life. Every team, every survivor, and every dollar raised can help save more lives.
