BERLIN — On Saturday, Oct. 10, at about 9 a.m., New Hampshire Fish and Game was notified of a rental UTV crash in the area of Brook Road Trail within Jericho Mountain State Park in Berlin. A conservation officer responded to investigate the incident.
Based on the on-scene investigation, the operator, identified as 45-year-old Moacir Henrique of Malden, Mass., was riding recklessly as part of a large group of rental UTVs. The group approached a sharp bend in the trail at a high rate of speed. Henrique failed to negotiate the turn and struck a large grouping of rocks, launching the UTV approximately 20 feet into the air before it landed in a brook. The crash resulted in significant damage to the rental machine. No members of the riding party sustained injuries.
