GORHAM — Throughout the state recently, local fire departments have been getting rid of a fire-suppression foam that once seemed safe to use.
Now, with more information coming out about the health consequences to firefighters of using aqueous film-forming foam because of the presence of perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances, the Gorham Fire Department site has become the drop-off point for all the fire departments in Coos County to dispose of the firefighting foam.
