Community Power Coalition announces new rates

CONCORD — The Community Power Coalition of New Hampshire Board of Directors has announced a 26 percent drop in the Community Power base electric rate to 8.1¢ per kilowatt-hour beginning in February 2024. The Coalition continues to offer the lowest residential energy supply rates in New Hampshire, out-competing energy service from investor-owned utilities for three consecutive rate periods.

Community Power Coalition will provide default energy service for more than 120,000 customers in a total of 28 cities and towns during the first half of this year, with many more towns preparing to bring programs online. The Androscoggin Valley Energy Collaborative, a member of the coalition, has proposed that the towns of Randolph, Shelburne, Stark and Stratford and the City of Berlin adopt an energy aggregation plan through the Community Power Coalition of New Hampshire this March at various town meetings. If approved, the plan could produce $500,000 in savings annually for residents in the community.
