BERLIN — Preserving part of Berlin’s cultural history extends to preserving the literature-inspired murals painted along several walls outside the entrance to the elementary school auditorium, several residents told the school board last week.

In separate letters to the school board, Julia Sullivan and Margo Sullivan, mother and daughter respectively, proclaimed their belief in keeping the classical literature-themed, mid-20th century murals visible on the walls. Both Sullivans are graduates of Berlin High School.
