BERLIN — What does it really take to protect land forever? Join the Ammonoosuc Conservation Trust on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 6 p.m. at the White Mountains Community College Fortier Library for a friendly, behind-the-scenes look at land conservation in New Hampshire’s North Country.
Learn how conservation easements and land ownership protect farms, forests, waterways, wildlife habitat and special community places; what a working forest or farm means; what responsibilities the Ammonoosuc Conservation Trust carries after a project closes; and why permanently conserving land generally takes at least two years— and sometimes considerably longer.
