FRYEBURG — Each year on National Signing Day, some of the best student-athletes across the United States eagerly await the opportunity to sign athletic scholarships with potential colleges and universities. For Fryeburg Academy senior Abigail Hewes, Wednesday, Nov. 13, was no exception.

“I am honored to receive this distinction from Bentley University,” said Abigail, who plans to play Division II field hockey for the Falcons next fall. “I’ve played for Coach (Dede) Frost all four years at the Academy and worked hard to improve my skills each year. I love the game of field hockey and look forward to the challenge of playing at the college level.”
