Quintus Charles Wilson Jr. passed peacefully at home on June 2, 2026, with family by his side. Born in Minneapolis on October 27, 1928, he spent his childhood in St. Paul, and adulthood in Ann Arbor, Mich., Anaheim, Calif., Boulder, Colo., Sudbury, Mass., and Bridgton, Maine, as well as a year in Stuttgart, Germany, on a Fulbright scholarship.
Quint was fascinated with radios and electronics at an early age, and secured his amateur radio license as a teenager. He went on to study electrical engineering at the University of Utah, the General Electric Advanced Engineering Program, and the University of Michigan, and he made a career in designing electronics related to military communications. At different times, he held jobs at Ball Brothers, GTE Sylvania, and the MITRE Corporation, among others. Â
