Ok, I had no idea what I was getting into with Buddusky, the Peru, Maine-based duo of Jeshua Doyon (guitars and vocals) and Dean Arsenault (drums and vocals). Theirs is one of my favorite local band names; every time I see it on a poster or something I get kind of happy about how fun it is to say: “BUDDUSKY, Y’ALL!” Try it, it feels great! The name has even taken on a new shape in my head as one of my favorite things to call dogs, children and good pals: buddinsky. Thank you, men of Buddusky, for the inspirado.

The way their whole deal rolls down here in Portland, though, I really thought this was going to be some angry Maine dirt punk, not a Built to Spillian, Modest Mouseian indie rock enterprise. Your musical friends and neighbors seem to be punk, Buddusky. I could swear I’ve seen you play Hella Good Tacos when they were still doing shows there.
