Trump said he was for the common American. He is proving it by pardoning or granting clemency to Americans who “deserve it” (tongue in cheek). Here are a few examples: Former Honduras President Juan Orlando Hernandez, who was sentenced to 45 years for taking bribes to allow 400 tons of cocaine to enter the U.S. Trump said it was a “Biden administration setup.”
Undermining the rule of law has been a central goal of the Trump Administration. Hegseth firing the top military lawyers, the illegal appointment of Federal Prosecutors bypassing Senate Confirmation, the firing of top DOJ Pardon Attorney (Liz Over), an Attorney General who refuses to answer serious questions in front of the Senate all constitute attacks on our democracy.
There are so many.....Lest we forget this one, a standout - NYT - "Last week, President Trump issued yet another pardon that’s corrosive to the rule of law — this one to Representative Henry Cuellar, a Texas Democrat who was awaiting trial on federal bribery charges. This pardon was exceptionally brazen. Mr. Trump publicly acknowledged that he had issued it to induce Mr. Cuellar to switch parties, and attacked him for a “lack of LOYALTY” when he declined to do so."
Interesting observation. But of course, pardons and commutations are always given to people who have been convicted of crimes. So they are all criminals.
Which perhaps explains why former President Joe Biden issued pardons to the January 6th Committee and to his family and to other administration figures. Many of them had NOT been convicted of crimes, yet Biden knew they were criminals so he pardoned them anyway.
At least he tried. Perhaps his autopen pardons will be deemed illegal. Then maybe we can put these criminals through our criminal justice process and get convictions before some future Democrat president re-issues them pardons.

Biden gave those people pre-emptive pardons because Trump was clearly threatening anyone who ever opposed him, spoke ill of him, or didn't do what he wanted them to do like the sycophants he's surrounded himself with in his cabinet, not because they'd done anything illegal. Lest you stupidly forget how Trump is, the list is more about anyone who opposes him than any sort of terrorism. Yet Trump cult morons around the country will either be unaware of it because their lunatic right-wing sites don't cover it, or they'll be okay with it because they don't question the dear leader of their cult.
The Jan. 6th commission did a fantastic job of laying out the facts of what happened, MAGA cult members just can't handle facts.
