Last week, hundreds of residents of the Mount Washington Valley came out to the Four Corners in Conway to peacefully exercise our right to freedom of speech. And during the first rally March 4 the lone counter-protester on March 4 told the Conway Daily Sun that he appreciated the protesters expressing their First Amendment rights and that he came to do the same.
Does the letter-writer actually believe the Columbia protests were "peaceful?"
Is holding college personnel hostage peaceful? Is forcing Jewish students to hide out, remove religious items from their clothing, or barricade themselves in the library to avoid an angry mob seem "peaceful?"
Is taking over campus buildings "peaceful?"
Is calling for the destruction of the state of Israel "from the river to the sea" peaceful?
Is burning American flags also peaceful? I agree that is Constitutionally protected speech, but should we allow foreigners on student visas to enter the US and then burn our flag on television?
Do you think foreigners get all the freedoms of American citizens? Do you think Americans get all the freedoms afforded to citizens of other countries when we are visitors there?
How about you stop exercising your selective memory. This guy was a student agitator with a message of hate, and that is a good reason to ask him to return home. He can protest to his heart's content in his own country. He would find a lot of Jewish-hating supporters there, even more than here.
How laughable that the guy who still supports Trump, who incited his cult followers to help him overthrow our government, wants to talk about selective memory. Idiotic!
The letter-writer pointed out that if we allow Trump to take away Constitutional rights from anyone he can take them away from everyone. It's a simple message, and it's based on the facts of what Trump is doing. It's sad the cult members, who like to scream about censorship, their Constitutional rights, government overreach, and undue influence in the media can't see that Trump is the greatest danger to all those things we've ever seen.
If we allow him to get away with these things, the next President, who WILL be a Democrat, would be able to do the same things. Their fevered, TDS infected brains may agree with the insanity Trump is pulling, but they need to understand that if we allow presidential power to be extended to dictator status as Trump wants, we've lost those rights forever.
By the way G, people here on Visas hold most of the same Constitutional rights (outside of voting and a few other limits) as citizens, so yes, not only is their speech protected, but so is burning the flag. Whether Americans get the same rights in other countries is irrelevant. While his message is hard to understand, he has the right to say it, just like you have the right to constantly spew lies and propaganda.
