In your March 10 issue a correspondent, mocking the Trump administration's confrontation with Iran, wrote: "Destroying Iran's war machine will not be a success if the regime in power still has the goal of 'death to America'."

Destroying Iran's "War Machine" does, on the face of it, seem like a good idea. However, Trump and his clown car full of vastly unqualified toadies are all-in on the, "Let's blow shit up!" approach - with no serious thought given to planning for what happens next. Already, we've seen the jihadists install the son of the original, murderous Ayatollah. If junior has been killed already, there is an abundant supply of wannabe martyrs to take his place. Religious fanatics don't run on logic. They run on the, "MY prophet is THE one and only way to salvation" trope. All the weapons we have (and we're running low on some of them) aren't enough to squash an organization of, "Whoopee, we're all gonna die", maniacs. We need intelligent planning for before, during and after the initial gunfight. Look at Trump, Hegseth, Bondi, et al, and tell me they've got the Right Stuff. Even the disgraced Richard Nixon was better qualified than Trump to do... almost anything I can think of.
