Larry Winefield: Here's the rest of the story about the ongoing war in Gaza

Why would I justify October 7th? So, I am ignoring it because I don’t use it to justify an ongoing genocide like yourself? As I have said countless times, October 7th was horrible. It has earned its place in history as an awful and brutal act of terror.

I cannot go back in time and stop the October 7th attack. What I can do is take a stand against our government’s enabling of this relentless assault in Gaza. That is why I am talking about this. It can and needs to stop!

I think the author of the original letter was about the definition of genocide. The first legally recognized genocide in Europe after the Holocaust was the Srebrenica Massacre. This involved less than 8,000 civilian deaths. It is not about numbers. There are five conditions that must be met for an act to be genocidal; they all have to do with the erasure of a society. This is exactly what Israel is doing. They really aren’t even trying to hide it.

I need to get back to work. You can keep attacking me all you want. I doubt that there is much that I can say that would make you seriously consider why you think that decades of oppression and the mass killing of children is in anyway excusable.

Oh, about those numbers that you refuse to believe. Those are put out by the Gazan Ministry of Health. It is the same organization that the UN and the United States have relied on for decades for information. Every president- including Trump, has recognized the validity of their information.

Wow. How enlightening. I do know the rest of the story. It didn't start on October 7th. For 75 years Israel has controlled the resources, movement, and lives of Palestinians. I will say this again: Netanyahu and Hamas are just opposite sides of the same hand. Hamas has been funded and nurtured by BiBi and his Likud party. Bibi has said himself that Hamas needs to be kept strong because it divides Palestine and weakens Fatah and the Palestinian Authority. The only reason the hostages haven't been returned is because it is not in BiBi's interest. Don't believe me? Ask the families of the hostages. I pose to you the same question that I always ask, yet never receive an answer to: if this was just about Hamas, then what about the West Bank? In case you were not aware, West Bank: no Hamas. Does that stop Israel from slaughtering people and stealing their homes? Nope. Those schools that I mentioned. Those were safe-zones set up by the IDF. Civilians are told to shelter somewhere. Israel bombs them. Cries "But, Hamaaaaas!" Rinse and repeat. Please spare me with this nonsense. The IDF does all it can to protect civilians? They openly admit to it. They have this procedure they like to call "Daddy's Home." They will track the movements of any male in Gaza, wait until he goes home to his family, and then bomb their house. Israel is an ethnostate who has made clear time and time again that they do not view Palestinians as people and believe they have a right to take their homes and land. Again, look at the West Bank (no Hamas). I do not support Hamas, just like I do not support BiBi Netanyahu. Hope you learned something, pal.
