To the editor:

The tragic loss of life in Texas is deeply concerning. Homes and people were washed away, including dozens of children from a summer camp. Since then, the community has been working to understand what happened and to rebuild, amid discussions about the causes of the disaster and what delayed warnings and timely evacuations. This was a terrible natural disaster.
