To the editor:

Iran doesn't need a nuclear weapon of mass destruction when they've got an economic weapon of mass destruction ... closing the Strait of Hormuz or bombing the petroleum fields of the Middle East thereby throwing the world into an energy shortage induced depression. And President Donald Trump has inadvertently handed it to them.

Iran had repeatedly threatened to block the strait of Hormuz but it wasn’t in their interest to do it until now, because it is their only card left to play. They had better (for them) alternatives in the past. Trump “handed” them nothing, he backed them into a corner. This was the necessary and inevitable step to stop their path to a nuke. The Dems would have the gullible believe that this is Trump’s war. No, it is the West’s war against a radical and terrorist regime. If not now, their reaction would have been 100x or 1,000x worse in the future.

Are you that economically illiterate?

Iran's 'economic WMD' is a suicide bomb strapped to its own oil-dependent economy. Closing Hormuz or torching fields would crater their revenue before the US Navy reopens the strait or allies retaliate. Trump didn't hand them leverage—he left them bankrupt and deterred.
