Gov. Kelly Ayotte has assured residents that state services will experience “minimal impact” for about 30 days. But the early effects are already rippling through communities with large numbers of federal workers and tourism-based economies.

More than 19,000 federal employees in New Hampshire — including those at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, the Manchester VA, the White Mountain National Forest and the Berlin prison — are working without pay. Roughly 9,100 of those jobs generated nearly $1 billion in wages in 2024. Each week without pay means $5 million to $6 million less circulating through restaurants, stores and service businesses on the Seacoast alone.

If the democrats would vote yes on the clean bill just to open the government, American citizens would not have to contend with this.

The democrats have seen fit to to use American citizens as pawns to push forward their communist left wing agenda, and to provide american tax dollar funded benefits for ilkegal alliens. The democrats even failed to put forth a plan that provides benefits for American citizens and nothing for illegal alliens, not even a bandaid, if they had, the government would be open.

The democrats need to stop buying votes with free benefits for illegal alliens and get back to the business of taking care of American citizens.

Its really ashamed when people not birn in this country can drive around in high end vehicles in designer clothing, with giant nails and weaves while collecting e b t and snap benefits. IT'S GOT TO STOP !!

so call your democratic representatives in the house and senate and tell them enough already, the well has gone dry, open the government and move forward....

American citizens have suffered long enough. Lets get ALL American citizens fed and sheltered before offering anything but a ride back to where they came from to all illegal alliens. Please.....

Its almost impossible to LIVE FREE, but the democrats are taxing us and giving the country away until we get sick, OR DIE.....

Thank You. On Nov 4th the NYT editorial board penned a piece - "In Trump's America, Are we Losing Our Democracy?" Examining a dozen categories of conduct we have never seen before in America, (such as posting political signs in our national forests in direct violation of the Hatch Act); and concluding we have begun a downward slide. https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2025/10/31/opinion/trump-autocracy-democracy-report.html
