How to keep your home powered during a summer heat wave

(BPT) - It's a scorching summer weekend, but the heat wave hasn't stopped you from gathering outdoors for a good old-fashioned cookout with friends and family. You're busy searing meats and veggies on your electric grill while your guests dance to the sounds of the summer pumping from the speaker system. The heat doesn't bother them. They're protected by the shade and cooled by the outdoor fans you've set up for the occasion.

Indoors, your spouse is busy in their home office, fingers flying over the keyboard as they finish up a work assignment before they grab the sides and extra beverages and join the festivities outdoors. By their feet is the family's canine companion, enjoying the AC that's on full blast 24/7.
