ANDROSCOGGIN VALLEY — Democratic presidential candidate Marianne Williamson will be in Coos County for two public events on Monday, Aug. 26.
Williamson will lead a North Country Rural Economic Roundtable discussion at the Gorham Town Hall, 20 Park St., from 3-4 p.m. Following that, she will host a town hall meeting in Berlin at City Hall, 168 Main St., from 5-6:30 p.m. All are welcome.
Williamson has been a teacher of transformational wisdom, a successful businesswoman, a political activist and the author of 13 books. She has counseled leaders of business, culture and politics and she is the co-founder of “The Peace Alliance.”
As she travels around the country, she has emphasized the need for all citizens to step up to forge a new chapter in the nation’s history.
Her website states, “Our task is to generate a massive wave of energy, fueled and navigated by we the people, so powerful as to override all threats to our democracy. Where fear has been harnessed for political purposes, our task is to harness love.” Williamson calls on all Americans “to be better — more educated, more involved and more conscious citizens of the United States.”
Williamson has reached the threshold of 130,000 unique voters, putting her in reach of the third national Democratic Presidential Debate in her hometown of Houston.
