NEW YORK CITY — Samantha Brown apologized profusely for postponing her phone interview by an hour: She had to go pick up her 7-year-old twins from school in Brooklyn, N.Y., where she and her family lives.

It just goes to show that it’s not all Chinese temples and French cathedrals for the personable blonde, whose television career began with the Travel Channel’s “Passport to Europe” several decades ago. She’s truly a working mother — though her work still involves jetting around the globe, thanks to her show, “Places to Love,” which has been airing on PBS since January 2018.
