WOLFEBORO — New Hampshire State Police Marine Patrol have identified the canoeist who drowned on New Year's Day in Lake Winnipesaukee near Wolfeboro as 20-year-old Andre C. Rupert of Framingham, Mass.

On Saturday, Jan. 1, at approximately 11:05 p.m., the Marine Patrol received information that several people in a canoe had fallen in the lake. Most made it back to shore but one person was missing, prompting a rapid water rescue response.
