Sun Publisher Mark Guerringue recently chatted with Conway Police Chief Chris Mattei, Conway Police Lt. Suzanne Kelley Scott and North Conway Assistant Fire Chief Josh MacMillan about Saturday's benefit hockey game Battle of the Badges taking place at the Ham Arena in Conway Village, starting at 3 p.m. This interview has been edited for clarity and brevity.

Chief Mattei: This will be our second annual Battle of the Badges hockey game. Last year was our first time doing it, and honestly I was a little nervous about what kind of turnout we’d get. But when we came out for the start of the game and looked up at the stands, it was pretty overwhelming. There were so many people there.
