CONWAY — The Night Out celebration set for Dec. 31 isn’t the first time North Conway has played host to a big New Year’s Eve bash. In the 1990s, there was First Night, but the name eventually was changed to New Year’s Festival Celebration.

From 1995-97, management was provided through the Dickson & McGonigle PR firm. In 1998, Monarch Events headed by Cindy Russell (who also had helmed the Arts Jubilee summer concert series) took over and continued through 2007.
