OSSIPEE — Democratic presidential hopeful Andrew Yang will be at Hobbs Tavern & and Brewing Co. at 2415 White Mountain Highway in West Ossipee from 6:30-8 p.m.
According to Knute Ogren, chair of the Carroll County Democrats and one of the organizers of Greater Ossipee Democrats: “The Greater Ossipee Dems are thrilled to welcome Mr. Yang to Carroll County as part of our ’Meet the Candidates’ series.
“This is an opportunity for people to learn, to wonde, and to wrestle with incredibly big ideas," Ogren said, adding, "Mr. Yang is helping all of us — Democrats, independents and Republicans alike — to see things from a fresh and important perspective.”
Yang, 44, is a New York City-based entrepreneur, author, husband and father of two. He will be visiting as part of his Humanity First Tour.
”Join presidential candidate Andrew Yang in Ossipee, NH on June 13, for some great food and an even better vision for America as part of his nation-wide Humanity First tour,” states a posting on Yang's "Andrew Yang for President 2020" Facebook page.
“With automation threatening one-third of all American jobs, it's time the country started talking seriously about real solutions. Andrew is the only candidate vowing to put more money directly in the pockets of Americans across the country — championing policies that would dramatically transform education, public safety, and overall quality of life for all.”
Yang visited the Sun in March and said that his proposed “Freedom Dividend” of $1,000 per month to every adult American could pass Congress because it’s a win-win for both progressives and conservatives.
He also promised to figure out a way for artificial intelligence to do people's taxes for them.
