MADISON — Former children's librarian Olga Morrill of Madison has written her first work of fiction — and her historical novel set in 17th century New England is anything but a child's tale.

To the contrary, "Vagabond Quakers: Northern Colonies" — the first in a self-published trilogy about the Quakers — documents the hardships and brutality they suffered at the hands of the Puritans in the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
