BERLIN — Plans to house federal immigration detainees at the federal prison in Berlin have drawn the attention of the American Civil Liberties Union of New Hampshire, which has filed a Freedom of Information Act request with the federal Bureau of Prisons.

In its request, the ACLU-NH is asking for all documents regarding to the use of the Berlin prison (known as Federal Correctional Institution, Berlin or FCI-Berlin) to hold U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees. The ACLU is asking for policy memoranda, detention standards, contracts and other documents.
