CONWAY — It seems only fitting that as the XXIII Winter Olympic Games draw to a close on the other side of the world, with the world fixated on the excitement of winter sports, eyes locally will be focused on the grand opening of the New England Ski Museum’s new Eastern Slope Branch in North Conway.

“It wasn’t planned that way, but yes, that does give it a good sendoff to have it coincide with the end of the Winter Olympics,” said Brian K. Fowler, manager of the newly opened facility, which will be dedicated today at 3 p.m. with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
