JACKSON — Approximately 50 people including firefighters, selectmen, representatives of the state’s congressional delegation and state representatives and well-wishers attended the groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday for the new Jackson Fire Station.

The $5.58 million, 20-year bond for the station was approved by residents by a wide margin at annual town meeting in March. The proposal got more than the 60 percent required for passage in a 156-90 vote.
