The Way Station, a nonprofit housed in the Lutheran Church on Grove Street, provides support for the homeless and housing insecure in Mount Washington Valley. It operates as a day center, offering services like mail collection, gas cards, camping equipment, and showers. They assist around 35-45 households weekly, with 400 individuals served annually. The Way Station also runs a cold weather emergency shelter program, providing hotel rooms and gas cards. Their budget is $400,000, including a $110,000 cold weather grant. They are planning to expand into transitional housing. The Lutheran Church, which supports the Way Station, has around 70-80 attendees on Sundays.
