The Battle of the Badges event, scheduled for March 21, aims to raise funds for the Child Advocacy Center of Carroll County (CAC), which supports child abuse victims and their families. Last year, the event raised over $5,000. The police and fire departments will compete in a friendly hockey game, with proceeds from raffles, silent auctions, and donations going directly to the CAC. The CAC conducts approximately 100 forensic interviews annually. The police department is seeking a $9.3 million bond, with potential federal funding of $1-2 million. The event will feature a scrimmage by local youth hockey players and various family-friendly activities.
