CONWAY — Batten down the hatches, because if we can believe the forecast, we’re all in for a doozie of a late-September nor’easter, especially on the coastlines of New England.
Yours truly is happy to report that rather than head to Martha’s Vineyard as planned this weekend for a family celebration of life for my late brother-in-law David Federowicz who passed there one day shy of his 83rd birthday in August, I’m not going near any ferry this windswept, topsy-turvy, rainy weekend. I RECALL ONE STORMY post-Thanksgiving return trip 20 years or so ago from the Vineyard, when the waves were slapping hard as we tried to round the buoy off Woods Hole. People — including one of my dear nephews whom I won’t name — were barfing into paper bags as they rode in the cafeteria inside.
