An important message from the Tamworth Police Department: Starting at the end of the month, Butler’s Bridge, at the intersection of Tamworth Road (Route 113) and Whittier Road will be closed for approximately four weeks while the bridge is being replaced. This will impede traffic passing through town and increase traffic on Whittier Road and Depot Road.

The posted speed limit on these roads, as well as others in town, is 35 mph and will be enforced. Route 113 serves as a cut through for those making their way to Route 16. It is just as quick when following the speed limit to stay on Routes 16 and 25. Please pass this along to your out of town friends to help them avoid creating unnecessary traffic on our side roads.
