By Nancy E. Williams

I hope you took a few quiet moments on Veterans Day, Nov. 11, to give thanks to the men and women who have sacrificed so much — their decisions, their travel plans, their family plans and their own freedoms — to defend the United States of America. When I saw the sea of blue Marine uniforms at the Naval Base in San Diego during a Sunday football game, it made me proud to live in this great country where these men and women are on call 24/7 to protect us. I love my country, and I love the veterans.
