While this long winter continues to be, well, winter, we are nonetheless looking to the coming season of new beginnings as a herald of our busiest time of year. It is also the 70th anniversary of the opening of the old North Conway Community Center right before Mr. Gibson passed away in 1950. So, in this year of many locally relevant anniversaries, we’re sure to come up with some form of community celebration. Please stay tuned.

At the North Conway Community Center, a couple of new initiatives are being considered: the formation of a core group of community center advisors to help us plan and orchestrate events and activities over the coming years, and, as an adjunct, the creation of an active volunteer contingent to help us run the center during busy program times. These two similar efforts will enable us to keep costs down while doing more, especially during the month (March/April) when Alex is off doing his annual National Guard training.
