I’ve written in the past about the new affordable Slate electric pickup that’s approaching production. This bare-bones, $25,000-ish single-cab, Jeff Bezos (of Amazon)-backed truck has generated a lot of buzz among value-minded vehicle shoppers, but the strictly EV powertrain has been a sticking point for many.

Enter Dallas real estate broker Zach DeBernardi, who has been making ripples with his concept “cheap” pickup, the REO Runabout.
