Chuck was born in Worcester, Mass., on October 30, 1951. On the eve of Halloween, known as “Devils Night,” children and adults alike gather to pull pranks, hijinks and perform devilish deeds. There could be no more appropriate day for Chuck’s birth. He was raised in Worcester and the family summered in Marshfield where the summer was filled with friends and family enjoying the beach life. Swimming and spending time on the beach with a cast of characters that remain friends to this day. The stories of their antics are renowned.
Chuck had a sense of humor, acerbic and astute. It never failed to bring a hearty laugh and grin to even a dour face. He was not one to hold back on an unprovoked thought or insight that came into his mind, and he was always ready to offer forth a tale or two when he sat at your table. Chuck was a gifted storyteller. His wife would say that he was prone to exaggeration, but when did that not make an engaging tale?
