What began in 2005 as a small tournament at Bridgton Academy has grown into a regional tradition. This year, the 21st Annual Four Square World Championships will take place at Lake Region High School’s Theodore Nutting Gymnasium in Naples — the latest step in the event’s evolution — on Saturday, May 9.

Founded by Peter Lowell, the tournament was previously hosted at Bridgton Academy and later held at Bridgton Town Hall in partnership with Bridgton Recreation. This year, Leslie Hayes, director of Bridgton Recreation, suggested moving the event to Lake Region High School to accommodate its continued growth and provide more space for competitors and spectators alike.
